Marc Merrill is currently General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Uniper SE, where he oversees the company’s global legal and compliance functions from its headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany. Prior to his current role, Marc was President & CEO of Uniper North America where he had overall responsibility for the Uniper Group’s activities in North America including direct commercial responsibility for the Group’s North American power, natural gas, and environmental commodities activities.
Before joining Uniper, Marc was in private legal practice in Munich, Germany and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas-Austin. He also studied law in Germany and France. He is fluent in German.

Maria is Regulatory and Policy Consultant with over seven years of experience in the field of European energy market policy and regulation. Currently, she is Manager for Market Supervision with the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET), focusing on legislative frameworks for energy market integrity and transparency. Previously, she has dealt with regulatory issues related to carbon emissions trading and European gas market design.

Alejandro encompasses over 19 years of professional experience with a strong background in corporate, finance, regulatory, energy and trading in the global market. He has worked for majors such as Bear Stearns, AIB. He later co-founded Primergy Capital Partners, an FCA regulated Investment Manager focused in energy trading. More recently, he established the legal departments of Gunvor and Cadoil Trading. Currently, Alejandro works for Raizen Trading, part of Raizen Group, a JV between Cosan and Shell.
Alejandro studied Law (USA, Austria, Spain), holds an MBA from Chicago Booth and a PE specialization by Harvard Business School. Recently he received the recognition by being listed in the GC Powerlist The Legal 500 in Switzerland.
