Brunno Maradei is the Global Head of Responsible Investment at Aegon Asset Management. Prior to this role he was a Senior Investment Officer at the European Investment Bank, working mostly on structured finance for infrastructure projects in Africa.
Brunno has worked in the finance industry for over 20 years, starting in Morgan Stanley’s risk management practice in London and subsequently moving to JPMorgan. Brunno spent over three years in the leadership team at EIRIS, a leading ESG research house in London, and over eight years in the World Bank Group in Washington, where he developed sustainable investment products for emerging markets and structured blended finance for renewable energy projects in Africa.
Brunno also spent two years advising the European Commission on blended finance for development impact. Brunno is a CFA charterholder, holds an MBA from London Business School and a BSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics.
Ita is an Associate Director in Sustainalytics’ Client Relations team, advising clients on their use of Sustainalytics’ products and on integrating ESG considerations into their investment processes. Since joining Sustainalytics in 2014, Ita has worked with several large financial institutions in both the Benelux and Nordics, across all business lines from asset managers to lending departments. Prior to joining Sustainalytics, Ita worked for several financial institutions including Deutsche Bank and Euroclear in both operational and commercial roles. Ita is a CFA Charterholder and holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Finance from the University of Amsterdam.

Beate Born is an Executive Director in Risk and Regulatory Management at UBS Wealth Management in Zürich.
As an expert in regulatory change and program management, she has led the Global MiFID II Trading Program across all UBS Wealth Management locations for the past years and is now also covering Brexit topics for Wealth Management. In total, she has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry in Switzerland, Europe and Asia. Amongst others, Beate worked for the Swiss consultancy Malik Management Zentrum St. Gallen and had her own regulatory implementation practice before joining UBS.
Academic degrees include an MBA from Clark University, a DESS from the Sorbonne, an executive diploma from the Swiss Finance Institute and a certificate of advanced studies in Financial Market Regulation from the University of Zürich.
Hardik Shah, CFA
ESG practice lead
Mr. Shah leads the ESG practice at GMO and is responsible for building GMO’s ESG capability across investment product areas and asset classes. He is also a member of the CFA Institute’s ESG Working Group for FY20 whose purpose is to develop a proposal for an ESG industry standard for ESG-centric funds and investment strategies.
Prior to joining GMO in 2017, he led a global team of analysts focused on ESG ratings and thematic research at Sustainalytics. Previously, he was an ESG Ratings associate at MSCI and, as a senior climate change consultant with Ernst & Young, has helped register a wide variety of projects with the UNFCCC under the Clean Development Mechanism defined in the Kyoto Protocol. During 2015 and 2016, Mr. Shah was voted #1 “research firm analyst who understands the challenges & opportunities facing companies” in the global Independent Research in Responsible Investment (IRRI) Survey. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from University of Mumbai and holds a post-graduate diploma in management - e business (finance) from We School, Mumbai.
Mr. Shah holds the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) credential issued by SASB and is a CFA charter holder.
