Grigoris Karakoulas is the president and founder of InfoAgora Inc. that has provided risk management consulting, prescriptive analytics, RegTech solutions (CECL/ IFRS9/IRRBB/Basel III) and model risk management services to Fortune-500 financial institutions with multi-million dollar benefits. He is also Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. Grigoris has published more than 40 papers in journals and conference proceedings in the areas of machine learning, risk management and predictive modelling in banking. He is on the PRMIA subject matter boards for Stress Testing and Enterprise Risk Management. He holds a PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence).

Dr William Segal, CFA is Principal and founder of Ipso Facto Solutions LLC, a New York-based boutique consulting firm offering specialized model development and review expertise. His team has completed engagements at some of the world’s largest financial institutions covering a wide range of analytics for purposes including anti-money laundering, the Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) accounting standard, and capital adequacy.
Before launching Ipso Facto in 2016, Dr Segal held leadership positions at Fannie Mae, Capital One, and at financial regulatory agencies in Washington DC. Dr Segal holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard and an Economics PhD from Berkeley.

Dr. Bizan specializes in econometrics, industrial economics, and finance. His primary focus is on applying economic theory and econometric modelling to complex business environments. For over 20 years, Dr. Bizan has assisted corporate and government clients in a variety of economic and financial matters that require expert evaluation of economic issues and the analysis and interpretation of economic data.
Dr. Bizan has been helping medium- and large-size banks comply with risk management regulatory requirements for DFAST, CCAR, CECL, and Basel II and III, supporting them in all stages of the process from the design of risk management policies through data collection and preparation, modeling, reporting, documentation, and model validation. He has led engagements that include a wide range of financial institutions including commercial banks, federal home loan banks, hedge funds, and risk management advisories.
Dr. Bizan taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the economics departments of Northwestern University, Haifa University, and Tel Aviv University. His research focuses on the analysis government support to international R&D joint ventures and the economics of innovation and has been published in leading peer-reviewed economic journals.
Dr. Bizan holds a Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in economics from Northwestern University, as well as M.A. and B.A. degrees in economics, summa cum laude, from Tel Aviv University.
Head of Model Risk Management and Validation
Jacob Kosoff is the Head of Model Risk Management and Validation (MRMV) at Regions Bank, serving in this role since May 2014. Jacob has held roles in model development, credit review and model risk management at Genesis Analytics, Freddie Mac & PNC prior to joining Regions.
Jacob serves on the Alabama Commission on Artificial Intelligence and Associated Technologies, an appointment he received from the Governor of Alabama. Jacob also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Levite Jewish Community Center and as a member of the CEO Search Committee for the Birmingham Jewish Federation.
Jacob was recently nominated by Regions Bank and selected by the Birmingham Business Journal as a Top 40 under 40 award recipient.
Jacob has developed a strong and stable quantitative team that has benefited from under 10% annual external turnover over the past four years. Jacob’s biggest accomplishment in his career has been in helping over 25 model risk management associates grow into other crucial roles at Regions that align with their career architecture plans and the banks’ needs.
The Regions model risk management and validation team is comprised of 44% female associates, up from 13% when he started in 2014.
Jacob is married Ilene Kosoff and they have three children.
